I recently encoded all the Lupin films and I learned a lot about handbrake and programing the optimal settings. I went through and reencoded them from my blu-ray source files, and finely tuned the settings. This is the best looking I think possible at such a low bitrate. I wanted to make a simple and consistent rip of the 7 films. I sourced the amazing subs for Castle of Cagliostro by [hydes / izzybell / ZeBenko / kneelack](https://nyaa.si/view/2061118) and great subs from [Anime Land](https://nyaa.si/view/1252142) ## Films |Title|Year| |:---:|:---:| | Mystery of Mamo |1978| |Castle of Cagliostro|1979| |The Legend of the Gold of Babylon|1985| |Farewell to Nostradamus|1995| |Dead or Alive|1996| |Lupin III vs. Detective Conan - The Movie|2013| |The First|2019| ## Mystery of Mamo ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/CKnwmC2S/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h05m53s965.png "MOM Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/28Tj6SWP/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h03m34s865.png "MOM Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|PGS |BD| |Track 2|English Forced|PGS |BD|✓ ## Castle of Cagliostro ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/3JQY9DXs/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-13h46m45s017.png "COC Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/dVqvcPSG/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-13h46m23s223.png "COC Eample 2") ## Audio Tack List |Tracks|Language|Format|Source| |---|:---:|:-----:|----| | Track 1 | English | OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD| | Track 2 | Japanese| OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Tack List |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|ASS |hydes / izzybell / ZeBenko| |Track 2|English Forced|ASS |hydes / izzybell / ZeBenko|✓ |Track 3|English Dubtitles|ASS |hydes / izzybell / ZeBenko| ## The Legend of the Gold of Babylon ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/kXM7x031/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h19m42s836.png "LOTGB Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/J47RbfCW/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h19m23s158.png "LOTGB Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|PGS |BD| |Track 2|English Forced|PGS |BD|✓ ## Farewell to Nostradamus ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/sf4VGV8n/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h21m41s019.png "FtN Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/h41SQS6F/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h20m33s420.png "FtN Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|PGS |BD| |Track 2|English Forced|PGS |BD|✓ ## Dead or Alive ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/CMsFnFtG/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h22m17s905.png "DoA Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/cChZpmw0/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h22m54s358.png "DoA Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|PGS |BD| |Track 2|English Forced|PGS |BD|✓ ## Lupin III vs. Detective Conan - The Movie ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/KjfF6NBS/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h25m18s399.png "LvDC Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/c1Bstsjt/vlcsnap-2026-05-28-14h24m39s077.png "LvDC Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|PGS |BD| |Track 2|English Forced|PGS |BD|✓ ## The First ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/prCxwZ86/vlcsnap-2026-05-22-10h06m19s628-png.webp "TF Example 1") ![alt text](https://i.postimg.cc/GtddgNBk/vlcsnap-2026-05-22-10h21m07s174-png.webp "TF Eample 2") ## Audio Tracks |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| | ------------- |:-------------:|:-----:|:----:|:---:| |Track 1| English|OPUS (2.0 ch) |BD|✓ |Track 2| Japanese|OPUS (2.0 ch)|BD| ## Subtitle Track |Tracks|Language|Format|Source|Default| |---|:---:|:---:|----|:---:| |Track 1|English Full|ASS |Anime Land| |Track 2|English Forced|ASS |Anime Land|✓ |Track 3|English Dubtitles|PGS |BD|

Thank you. Do you plan to upload the Lupin III TV specials in batches as well?

For dual audio yes! For sub only eventually! I will get to it but it's a low priority.

I sold my blu-rays for some of the specials before ripping them T_T I am planning to re-buy the specials through discotek's re-release. Probably wont have it up for a year.

I'm not sure about the rest, but the subtitles for Nostradamus have some major sync issues.

@kandi_gloss What player did you use? I just jumped around and tested both sub tracks and both are synced up fine. They were taken from the blu-ray and unmodified. They would be as synced as the blu-ray.
